State of Texas Robertson County }

An agreement made and entered into this day between Mrs. E.H. Mitchell of the one part, and the colored man Charley Brandon, and his wife Prisa of the other part.
Witnesseth, That the said Charley and his wife, agrees to hire, and faithfullly to work for the said Mrs. Michell for the year 1866. and the said Mrs Mitchell agrees to pay the said Charles $12.00 per month and his wife $40.00 for the year, furnish their provisions, two suits of Summer Clothing, one of woollen, one pair of shoes one wool hat, and in case of sickness, medical aid furnished. And be it futher Agreed, that if the said Charley or wife loses any time by sickness or otherwise, a deduction shall be made, according to the time lost: and be it further Agreed. that if the said Charley or wife deserts or quit their work, or leave the plantation, their wages shall be forfeited up to the time of leaving.
