Affiant further states that the said Sykes called upon affiant about three weeks ago & finding affiant very sick in bed, with fever, left without alluding to business.

Affiant further states that Shelby has frequently stated to his freedmen, that if they went near the office of the agent of the Bureau that he Shelby would, drive them off.

Affiant further states that the said Shelby is notorious for not paying an honest debt if he can avoid it.
