Judge T. Ford's Statement.

It was on the 12th day of July 1865, that the damnable deed of castrastion was performed upon one Lem. a negro Boy. That he, the Judge, had just returned the day before, a Refugee and an Exile from his home, and was a witness of this fearful deed. he says he did every thing in his power to have them take the Boy to Millican and turned over to the proper authorities, and if the charge of which he was accused was proven to let the law take its course, or keep him in confinement till the United States Courts had convened. But Mr. McCrary said nothing of that sort would suit him, he demanded his Castration or his death.

Mr. Ford was a notorious Union man. who was hunted down by Bloodhounds and at last was forced to flee the Country to save his life.

His Sons, T.J. and H.C. Ford were in Exile with him. His other son S.W. Ford was not.
