I herewith enclose to you the affidavit of Emily Massey F.W.C. Citizen of Angelina County who has come here for the purpose of appealing to Head Quarters for Justing Believing that it is denied her in Angelina
This woman Come here first and laid her Complaint before H.S. Johnson SAC. here he bing the nearest to her But Johnson feeling a delicacy in investigating Cases in Capt Smiths District referd her back to him at Nacogdoches and Smith sent a Mr Furgeson a Sub of his down to Homer and Emily says that Mrs Nanciy M Cupp (who by the way understands human nature pretty well) went down to Homer and had an interview with this man Ferguson (Whome report says was drunk at the time he was there) after which Mr Furguson would not listen to Emiley's Complaint, would hear no evidence He would simply give Emiley an order to Mrs Cupp for 30# and do nothing more which he done signing Capt Smiths name to the order this order Emiley refuses to accept as an equivalent for her service. this order I Enclose to you = I feel Confident that this woman Emiley has been wronged and should be righted
