This day Personally appeared before the undersigned authority Emily Massey F.W.C. Citizen of the County of Angelina who being duly sworn upon her Oath says as follows, to wit.
That on or about the 1st day of November 1865 She made and entered into the following agreement with Nancy M. Holbert now Nancy M. Cupp of the County of Angelina viz
that She the said Emily and her two children aged 15 and 16 years were to work for said Nancy M. Holbert for and during one year, and that the said Nancy agreed to pay the said Emily the sum of Sixteen Dollars pr month in Specie and and furnish Each one of them three suits of cloths each including shoes.
that the said Emily and her two children worked faithfully for said Nancey during the month of Nov. Dec. January and February being four months and that said Nancey becoming tired of her said Contract and desiring to get rid of Complainant made a false charge against her of attempting to poison her and had Complainant throwed into jail for five  months without any redress, before she was released and that at the end of said nine months she hired attorneys at a cost of fifty 50$ dollars and obtained her discharge and that said Nancey refused to pay Deponant any thing for her services, and never has paid any thing and has never furnished any of the clothing she agreed to furnish that she appealed to H.S.
