In obedience to orders from Head Quars Dist. of Texas, I have the honor to submit the following report.
About May 1st 67, Henry Gibson (Freedman) made a complaint at this office, that Mr. A. K. Lee, had owned him $44 for a long time, for work done and refused to pay the same. Mr. Lee was sent for an acknowledged the debt. Less $10, which he claimed to have paid to Dr. Hasleigh for Gibson, Upon inquiry of Dr. Hasleigh, he denied that Lee have ever paid him one cent as stated. Lee since that time has positively declined to pay the debt (though repeatedly requested to do so) on the ground that Gibson had been dishonest while in his employ.
