Respectfully referred to the Commanding Officer, Post of Galveston, Texas, for a full and prompt report, why a guard has been placed over the residence of Mr. Lee, corner of Broadway, & 20th St.

This Guard will be removed forthwith.

If your action has grown out of an application of the Sub. Asst. Com'r. Bu. R.F. & A.L. you will inform that officer, that the placing of armed guards over the dwellings and grounds of old and responsible citizens is not deemed necessary for the public interest, and before proceeding to such extreme measures hereafter, it is desired that the facts be submitted to these Head Quarters for consideration.
