The Gentlemen whose names are attached to the enclosed application any their positions during and after the war are herby given in faith

Judge I.A. Paschal member of the Convention from the Bexar Dist. City of San Antonio was at the beginning of the Rebellion a strong supporter of the Government and so continued throughout the War has been identified always as Union Man by the Union party in this state and has always beaten his opponents for the State Senate whenever he made the race and was elected by the Union element.

Judge Wm. E. Jones has been a staunch union man throughout and assisted Union refugees constantly by his advice and with means when leaving the country, and was elected as a member to the Convention by the Union party by a large majority from three counties that make up his district. 

B.G. Shields formerly member of Congress from Alabama always a Union Man  [[any?]] [[?]] denounced by the Secession element as a Radical of the first type.  [[strikethrough]]he was also elected.[[/strikethrough]] he is also a member of the Convention.

Thos H. Duval Judge of the United States Court, he refused to take the oath prescribed by the so call Confederate States was turned out of office his life threatened and the fled the country went to Washington City for the purpose of resigning  but the President Lincoln would not accept his resignation but told him he was still in office and his salary had bee regularly paid him through the War.  He is still holding the office.  The judge is a thorough Radical and in favor of Universal Suffrage.
