I shall use every means in my power to correct any false impression he may convey to the minds of the negroes, and trust that I in connection with the loyal men, may succeed in removing any doubts, received through his teachings, of the friendly feeling the northern people may entertain towards the freedmen. The loyal men are down on Parker, and they believe that he is a minion of Johnson. He abuses the northern abolitionists and tells the negroes that the Southern people are their only friends and advises them to submit to everything that the rebels may impose upon them. I am happy to say that the colored people have no confidence in him and generally denounce him as a rebel.
