and wish to remain there.

On examination of the records of County Court I found there on file a bond of Five hundred Dollars, approved as good and sufficient by the chief Justice conditioned that the said [[Bunton?]] would treat the boy Gid Brown well, feed and clothe him and give him a common English School education. All others apprenticed by the Chief Justice was under similar bond. In Justice to Chief Justice Odell I must state that he has acted with more liberality towards the Freed children apprenticed by him than Chief Justice within any knowledge, and thereby has made himself some bitter enemies in Houston County.

In conclusion I have to say that this man J. A. [[Gonor?]] who gave you this information is a petty lawyer ready to swindle the poor Freedman out of his last hard earned Dollar under false promises, that he could do and accomplish everything for them; all of which is done to serve his own selfish purpose and to satisfy his animosity.
