this subject - a reference to it, will suggest cogent reasons to any intelligent mind of the necessity of providing at once a speedy, simple, and practicable plan of instruction, to be adopted for the Freedmen in Texas, holding as they now do in the State, such a preponderance of power soon to be felt for the national advantage, or its injury, as their ballots are intelligently bestowed.
