Rev. Mr. Whipple, as to the cause or reason, upon which so unfavorable an opinion of School matters in Texas was based, and the following will explain fully.

1st  The School Supdt. in Texas, has never favored the Association with any report as to the condition of the School work last year, never sent any report or exhibit of the stations occupied by the teachers of the Association in Texas, or stated whether you was gratified or satisfied with the class of teachers supplied, - whether from your experience or observation of the work, it might be enlarged or materially improved in any way, &c. In fact have left the Association in every respect, destitute of all information calculated to interest and encourage the Association to renewed efforts and labor in Texas, or supplied its Officers with such special items of interest, as might have served a profitable purpose, in being made known to the respective Christian bodies, whose benevolence and assistance
