of a building, i.e. "For materials expended" at such a point, and upon such a building, - so much, - "For labor" so many days, at such a rate, &c, thus the work now suspended at certain points, for the want of means, can be taken up, and the School houses completed in the State, and the teachers can be estimated for, and something performed the coming school year, in good results, alike considerable to the benevolence of the people of the North, and to the Association, specially laboring for the interests of the Freedmen, and as well, gratifying to the Commissioner of the Bureau at Washington, and to the Asst. Comr. for the State.

I sincerely hope the buildings will be looked after at once.
