My dear Mr. Miller:--

An old time friend of mine, Mr. Ralph Le Fevre, editor of the "New Paltz Independent", has recently published the "History of New Paltz and its Old Families". As its title implies, the book deals with the early Huguenot families who settled at New Paltz, New York, very early in the history of this country. The book has been very well received, and the author is desirous of having a copy of it placed in our Public Library. The documents have been sent to the Librarian, and, understanding you are one of the Committee on the selection of books for the Public Library, I take the liberty of asking for your kind consideration of this volume when the matter is brought before your Committee. I believe the book is a valuable contribution to the current historical literature of the day.

Yours very sincerely,

Sidney T. Miller, Esq.,
CITY.
