#33 Ferry Avenue,
Detroit, Michigan,
June 28th, 1904.

Dear Matsuki:--

Your cablegram came to-day, reading:--

"Tokyo, June 27th, 04.
Charles Freer,
Detroit.
Secured other collection. I am entirely responsible for cash. You shall make your own selection. Waiting July first.
Matsuki, Yokohama."

and in reply, I have just cabled you as follows:--

"Matsuki,
Kobe, Japan.
Will cable ten thousand gold Kobe July second.
Freer."

and now beg to confirm the same.

The expense of cabling the money, instead of sending it by mail, does not cost very much - I think, about $20.00 on the whole amount, and I thought it would be worth this much extra
