for $4,500.00, and covers lot #9, Block 2, in Penneman's addition to the city of Minneapolis, and matures on November 30th, 1908. 

Both of these mortgages bear interest at 6%, payable semi-annually. 

Charlie Lang tells me that the property is worth considerably more than the mortgages, and I have no doubt that it is. I believe that the security is ample, and I judge,from what Lang has told me himself, that he has considerable means outside of these two pieces of property, so, in any event, I feel that you would run no risk in taking these two mortgages. If you would like them, I am perfectly willing to turn them over to you, and for the difference between the face of the mortgages, which amounts to $6,500.00, I would send you also my cheek for $2,075.00, which would close the account. 

I don't know what to recommend you to invent the $2,075.00 in, but I should think it quite possible for your husband to find something quite secure in Kingston. I wish you would think this matter over, and let me hear from you at your convenience. Of course, I don't want you to take the mortgages unless you would like to have them, and I only offer them to you because of their bearing 6% interest and being as safe as anything I think you could possibly find.
