Dear Mr. Eyre:--
This morning's mail brings me a letter from Mr. Hooper, also your letter of introduction. I have written Mr. Hooper, inviting him to visit Kingston and photograph the two houses owned by my brother and sister. My sister is away for the summer, but my brother has access to her house- so Mr. Hooper can photograph to his heart's content.
I spent a part of May and June last in England, from where I have recently returned. I am anxious now to have a talk with you about the changes we have been considering so long in the upper part of my stable. Since our last conversation on the subject, I have enlarged my views considerably, and I don't see how we can study the matter fully without your making trip to Detroit. I hate to ask you out here in the hot weather, but, if you can spare the time, and are willing to venture the trip, I would be very pleased, indeed, to see you here after August 4th. I am planning to go East the latter part of this week, and shall be in New York for one day. If you are in the city at that time, we might have a preliminary chat about the work, I expect to return to Detroit August 1st, and any time after the 4th, I can devote as much time to the subject as may be necessary.
