My dear Mr. Evans:--
The album containing the photographic reproductions of a selection made from your collection, also the engraved portrait of yourself, came recently, and I have enjoyed a careful examination of them all. Let me congratulate you upon the high standard of the paintings shown. They seem to me to be very interesting, and include the work of a lot of excellent painters. It is really refreshing to feel that such things are being produced in our midst.

Thank you for your great kindness, I remain,
Yours very sincerely,
