(By J.McE) Uncle Philip tells me that his Uncle Thomas told him that his grandfather lived in Conanen and had an interest in a flannel factory in Drumskildt - In the Rebellion they got into some difficulty and removed to Drumskildt.

Mem. of history of my fathers family as related by Uncle Patrick June 24 1873 - Page 68

Matthew - my fathers grandfather
Sons - Patrick - John - Charles (my grandfather) Thomas. Philip - Had one or two daughters. One married a Kelly (Patrick I think) Lived in County Monaghan - Drumskildt. John & Philip were 
united Irishmen and having been
found with arms were arrested tried for treason and sentenced to Botany Bay but Thomas was an influential man and got the Captain to land them at New Castle Delaware. They were the first who came to this country. Bryan an old man who lived with my grandfather from a boy came to this country with my father he said my grandfather was a great farmer and once raised 18000 score stocks of oats. Dont know much about Uncle Philip - Uncle John lived in Pennsylvania - was a clerk in a store and sometimes peddled. Uncle Philip died on his way from Philad'a to Baltimore.

My great grandfather died when my father was 3 years old at the age of 114 years.
