while getting supper. Centre room of camp furnished and all slept there. miserable supper. Mrs. Church discouraged on account of our English friends but they cheerful and most amicable.

Saturday 6. Fine. Mr L & I paddled to the outlet for trout. Lots of chub but no trout. -  Confusion in camp. Could unpack nothing.

Sunday 7. John built ladies room and they moved in. Giffords, wife and Mary arrived at 5. 

Monday 8. Rainy day. Men went in big birch for splints at Lumbermans camp up Sandy stream. Took ladies out in canoes toward evening. Rainy night Giffords 2 men returned. Wrote to Sara Givvord brought me letter from Sara-

Tuesday 9. Wind W. & brisk. Wrote to E.J. and Sara. [[crossed out]] went on the lake [[/crossed out]]

Monday 10. Gifford, Mr Leycester and I paddled down to the dam and fished. Caught only chub. The big birch went out with the ladies on an excursion

Thursday 11 Mr & Mrs L. Gifford & I went across the lake to Trout & Togue lakes. Gifford and I staid to fish in the trout Lakes while the rest went to Togue. We caught a nice lot. A very beautiful day.

Friday 12. Gifford, George & I went fishing. To the dam by Canal &
