headache passed off towards evening

Saturday 22. Church and  Hubbard came and staid a couple of hours. We rallied Hubbard upon the rich widow whom he is said to be attentive to and he rather enjoyed being the hero of an affair. Painted on the sky of my "Falling Leaves" and improved it. Rode on the Elevated R.R. to 135" St. Came back and found Mary, Mrs. Stone and a Dr. Maynard in my room. Mrs. Stone told me she came to buy a picture and said she would let me know very soon which one she would take. Went to see Booth in Hamlet at Grand Opera House taking Mary, Downing, Julia, Marion and Lily Taylor. Sent my stove and some other things home today

Sunday 23. Mary and I went to Dr Washburns church. Wrote from my studio to Eastman, a note to Jake Sharp and one to U.S. Express agent. Dined at Booths with Aldrich and
his wife and staid there until 10 oclk. A Mr Hart and Mr. Randall came in.

Monday 24. Called at Moores to have my picture sent to me. Saw Mrs. Whislers prize portrait which was very nice. Called on Julia Dillon but she was not in. Painted a little on my figure picture. Dined with G. B. Club at Down Town Club. Present, McDonough, Marbury, Butler, Anderson, Mc E. Draper, Pellum, Collins, Gifford, Otis, Southmays, Gordon. Wrote a short letter to Broughton.

Tuesday 25. A very sweet letter from Sade. Mr. Sawyer and another gentleman from the Brooklyn Art Association called. Mr. Bird dined at Marys. Mary and I went to the 7" Regt. Fair great crowd and a very good collection of pictures, among them Munckazys [[Munkácsys]] "Mont de piete" fine in character and expression but black-black - Curt note from U.S. Exp. Co. which I answered as curtly.

Wednesday 27. A letter from Weir. Left for home by 11. oclock train. Met Jake Sharp his wife and daughter at the depot who came home with me. Lily McEntee was also on the train.

Thursday 27. Thanksgiving day. We had no one with us outside our own family except Jake and his wife and daughter. We made the day cheerful and pleasant in spite of the sombre weather. I wrote to Mrs. Taylor and to Pell.

Friday 28. A rainy day. Had my studio cleaned and I put down my carpet and rearranged it so that now it looks very cosy and pleasant. Sara and Mrs. Sharp helped and advised
