Thursday Aug 10. Staid at [[?]] all day raining hard most of the time. At 4 the wind having lulled a little left for Collingwood

Friday 11 where we arrived early this morning and left by train for Toronto. Fine day after the storm. Dined at American hotel in Toronto and went on board steamer Corinthian for Montreal. Got a [[?]] state room. Boat overcrowded.

Saturday 12. An uncomfortable night. At Kingston at 5 when I turned out to get the "Grand Air" through Thousand Islands and the rapids to Montreal at 7 P.M. Left immediately by steamer Montreal for Quebec. Nice stateroom and good supper. 

Sunday 13. Quebec early in morning. [[?]] St [[?]] Met King Putnam and wife. Walk together to the Citadel and Plains of Abraham. Afternoon walk through the city. I think of dear Gertrude all the time for we had often talked about coming here

Monday 14. To where Montgomery fell and about the lower town. To Orleans island and left for Montreal by steamer in the evening

Tuesday 15. Montreal at 7. Windsor Hotel to breakfast + lunch. Hardy Van Buren employed there are recognized me. Walk down town and ride by Omnibus to Mt. Royal Park. Left for Plattsburg by rail at 3.20.

Wednesday 16. Staid at Fouquet House and left by boat (Vermont) at 7 for Ticonderoga. Wind blew hard all day. Rail over to Lake George and up the lake by boat. Stopped at Ft. William Henry hotel. Saw Bowyer. Told me his mother was five miles down the lake. After supper got a man to drive me there and had an hour with them. Hard shower coming back. 

Thursday 17. Left for Albany 6.30 A.M and was home at 12.30. Sara who was expecting me met me at the ferry and so I am at home again after nearly three months [[alone?]] and nearly 7000 miles of travel
