Parting Song
With finished task we linger yet
A backward glance to cast.
Our school days we would not forget,
Those happy hours, - now past.

They've borne us on, with motion swift,
To this the closing scene,
And while on life's broad stream we drift,
We'll keep their mem'ry green.

Our schoolmates, one and all, we greet,
With words of parting cheer,
May life for them be full and sweet,
Their record bright and clear.

Our kindest thoughts and words we keep
For teachers, tried and true,
They've led us up the pathway steep,
We pay them homage due.

And now we'll say the last "good-bye,"
And onward press our way,
To find our work in life we'll try,
And help where help we may.
