Gentlemen,
As you no doubt know, the home of Frederick Douglass, the great Abolishionist, is located in in washington, D.C. at 1411 W Street SE (Anacostia). For some years this home has been in a run down condition; in need of repairs and paint.
This committee began several months ago collecting funds to repair and paint the memorial. We are now in the process of painting and we need more funds to finish the project.
We would like to ask your organization for a contribution to help us finish the job.
There is a large volume of business in this area and it will be a greater tourist attraction when the Douglass home is cleaned up etc. Your group would benefit from this.
Your consideration of the above request would be most appreciated.
Yours truly
