THE COORDINATING COMMITTEE
of
ANACOSTIA AND VICINITY

Jan. 26, 156

Mrs Fannie Dorsey, Principal
Douglass Jr. High School
Washington, D.C.

Dear Mrs. Dorsey,

This Committee is planning a short program Tuesday February 14th to honor the 139th Anniversary of Frederick Douglass birth at 1411 w stret SE at the memorial.

The program meets the approval of the school authorities. Each area principal has been asked to participate with as many pupils turning out as possible.

We would like very much for you to participate with as many of your students as possible. We would further like for your choral group to sing 2 numbers like the National Anthem and Battle Hymn of the Republic. I will see you about this and also to about printing 200 programs if we furnish paper.

It is the desire of the committee and myself to make this an annual occasion to honor Douglass who did much for our freedom and was a great and distinguished Washington citizen.

Yours very truly,

Charles E. Qualls
Gen. Chairman
