AN ACT
To incorporate the Frederick Douglass Memorial and Historical Association.

1 Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives
2  of the United States of America in Congress assembled,
3 That Helen Douglass, William H. H. Hart, Francis J.
4 Grimke, May Wright Sewall, Edward A. Clarke, their associates-
5 and successors, be, and they are hereby declared to be
6 a body politic and corporate, in the District of Columbia,
7 with perpetual succession, by and under the name, style, and
8 title of the Frederick Douglass Memorial and Historical Association,
9 for the following -objects and purposes, to wit:
10 First. To preserve to posterity the memory of the life
11 and character of the late Frederick Douglass.
