Mr Charles L. Freer,
33 Ferry Avenue, East,
Detroit, Michigan.

My dear Mr Freer:

The Octagon, Washington, D.C.

Art and Archaeology is rapidly approaching the completion of its third fiscal year with a steadily growing mailing list. May we call your attention, as a member of the Institue, to the financial statement enclosed which shows our record in the past and the tentative schedule on which we are now working.

We are endeavoring to complete the $5,000 guaranty fund necessary to carry us through the third year, and we find that there is a balance of about $2,000 which we must raise to realize our estimates. As our present guarantors have responded so generously, we feel that the most effective way to raise this amount will be to invite other members of the Institue to become members of the committee and lend us their financial support.
