jurisdiction, that I must deal with said Miller for such conduct that Miller had used toward me would not be tolerated
Here I wish to State emphatically that I had no reference to Andy Johnson as a president of the U.S. no more than I wished to inform this gentleman that I made no respects of persons in the discharge of my duty--although he would have you believe to the contrary in his evidence--
I dismissed Thompson rather uncourteously which I suppose has influenced him to State a part and not giving the true meaning of my words to him -- In regard to registration, I intended nothing more than to say to him that it was my duty to make a report of registration on every Monday for I never attempted to exercise any control over registration as he tells you in his evidence. He further States that he was in the conversation with me 30-or 40- minutes, and that he thought me intoxicated--This is all false--I refer you to other evidence, men who were acquainted with me who emphatically say I was not intoxicated  nor did Thompson remain with me exceeding ten minutes and you will plainly see by the conversation detailed by witness Thompson that an intoxicated person could not have conversed as represented by him -- This man Thompson never spoke to me before this occasion, and he is mistaken in regard to the intoxication at the time he was with me - other witnesses as creditable
