Personally appeared before me, John N. Leetch, who on oath says that I saw some ten or twelve white citizen in the town of Crockett on the morning of the 25th of Sept. 1867-, who were armed with guns (double barrelled shot guns) and some of [[strikethrough]] then [[/strikethrough]] them with six shooting pistols in their belts on horse back- They said that they were going to follow Hunsaker catch him and hang him or kill him  I told Dr Hunsaker that if I moved to the other school house babtist meeting house for freedmens children that some of the white citizens said that I should not do it and if I did that they would tear it down - And Dr Hunsaker assured me that I as teacher and the school of freedmen should go on if it had to be sustained by armed force and I come down on the Evening of the 24 Sept. and told Dr Hunsaker about it, and Dr Hunsaker said that he would give me a guard to sustain my freedman's school, at the the babtist meeting house if necessary
