County of Bowie

Be it known by these Presents that we Thadeus N Shipp as principal and  are held and formly bound unto the United States of America in the Sum of Five Thousand dollars for the payment of which Sum will and truly to be made we bind ourselves our heirs and personal representatives jointly and severally firmly by these presents in testimony of which we hereto sign our names and affix our scrawls for seals on this the 22nd day of November A.D 1867-

The Conditions of the above obligation is such that whereas the above bounder Thadeas N. Shipp has been arrested by the military authorities of the United States and is now in imprisonment charge with a breach of the peace and

in said county on the 21st day of November AD. 1867 and whereas by virtue of these Presents the said Thadeas N. Shipp is about to be Discharged from said custody & imprisonment & securing his good conduct and future appearance to meet said charges - Now if the said Thadeas. N. Shipp shalt will and truly make his personal appearance and report on Monday next to wit on the 25 day of November AD. 1867 and every two weeks thereafter to Capt W.G. Kirkman Sub Asst Comr of Freedmans Bureau & A. L. at his office in the
