Clarksville Texas. February 24th 1868.

State that a gang of desperadoes are a few miles from that place. That they theaten to kill him. That he has only five men with him that he expect that they will be withdrawn at the end of the month. States that if the Q.M.D will send his body to Batavia New York he will stay and fight it out.
