Office Sub Asst. Comr Bureau R.F. and A.L. Clarksvile Texas Feb. 24th 1868 Lieut. J.P. Richardson A,A,A, Genl Lieut. I have the honor to report that Elisha Guest, John Bicknell, John Duty and the other leaders of gangs and at present within nine miles of this place. I learn that Henderson has joined them. Thursday night. 20th. Feb. the several murderers met at Guests prairie, and stopped at the house of the father of Guest. They sleep out, and feed their horses and themselves at Old Guests. Elisha has been having a quantity of clothes made and reports that he is going to Mexico. Henderson comes into town every night: three revolvers and a shot-gun he makes his rounds. I have fine men
