Petitions that 156 1/2 acres of land now held by the U.S. as abandoned property be returned to her. states that she never deeded it to the Confederate Govt &c Co. Clk. certifies that no deeds are on file in his office to show that said property ever was sold L.R.R. 84 See L.S. page 314 & 390 J. Howard, Commissioner &c, with the recommendation that the 158 5/10 acres be restored to Mrs. N.J. Rawlings, it being believed that the U.S. has no title, and that the 2 1/2 acres be sold under Sec. 12, Act of July 16, 1868, the proceeds to be turned over to the school fund.
