After Rawlings sells this 156 acres to Brewen he sells to Busby as a private individual, not as O.M. of the Confed. States - 223 acres - Busby has since sold this land to Mrs. Furlow and she to a Mr. Gaston = Letters from Morrison bearing date May 25th 1868 says that the 156 acres was sold prior to the time that the 223 acres was sold to Busby on private account. Mrs. Rawlings signed away her rights to the 223 acres of land going to show that she did sell her homestead when she sold the 223 acres = nevertheless, she claims in her petition that the 156 acres is her homestead = and makes an affidavit to that effect = Believe in a case where the cong. is involved people would swear to anything = In cases of other property have not taken such special pains to look up titles - no title at all to the Waco property - to the [[s?]] title doubtful=
