Sir: 
I have the honor to respectfully report that about 9 o'clock on the night of the 24th ult, a company of men variously estimated at from five to fifteen men, made their appearance at the habitations of some freedmen living about 10 miles from Cameron, in Milam County, on the Belton road, and called for Alex and Lewis, two freedman, who had recently come into that neighborhood from Bell county. Two of these men came into one of the houses, ordered a light & took the gun of James Johnson, a freedman and broke it. They then took Boston Johnson, James Johnson, Isaac House, Alex Myers, and Louis Myers, and said they would
