The following enumerated case deserves, I believe, your notice, therefore you will excuse my importunity as I hope.
F. H. Glameyer had rented a place in this vicinity for the year of 1867, & engaged Jack, f. m. c. to make crop for him for a share. If the contract was ever approved by the freedmans bureau, I cannot tell; Jacks copy contained nothing of it, nor a signature of a witness. Before the crop was gathered, Jack purchased a horse from Glameyer for $50, some persons who knew the horse say it was not worth more than $20.
