John Brown his X mark

I Wm Jackson Coroner make the following report to wit, that on an information given to me of the killing of H Campbell (freedman) I ordered B A Brown. Sheriff to summon a Jury of six men as a Jury of Inquest, and repaired to the place of the dead body; and after duly qualifying [[strikethrough]] Dr J W Fennell & D C. Marsh [[/strikethrough]] said Jury proceeded to an Investigation Drs. J W Fennell & D C Marsh being called made a Post mortem examination, after which, and the testimony of witnesses as appears by the papers in the case; they rendered as their verdict, that Henry Campbell came to his death by a wound received from a bayonet in the hands of John S Brown while on
