Mr Daniel F. Allen was last year our Supt of schools for Texas and by appointment of Genl Howard Asst Supt of schools for the Bureau, receiving his salary from the Bureau.
We are desirous of sending him to Tex in charge of a corps of teachers this year and shall do so provided Gen Reynolds will recommend hat Gen Howard reappoint him Asst Sup't of Education for the Bureau.
We shall be pleased to receive an early reply assuring us that this appointment has been recommended by Gen Reynolds
