Messrs O. P. Boyd and W. E. Hart, desiring to appeal from my decision in their case to the Asst. Commissioner of the State, I agree to withhold the payment, for forty days, of the sum of one thousand dollars in my hands, the amount of the damages awarded by me against them payable to Dr Beale and sundry freed people for the abduction of said freed people from the farm of Dr Beale.

At the end of the forty day from date, if not otherwise instructed by the Asst. Commissioner, the said sum will be paid by me to Dr Beale and the freed men according to previous judgment. Messrs Boyd and Hart in asking to postponement agree to the conditions.
