Francis, colored woman sworn.
"Do you know anything about Matthew Snowball, Lina Snowball, Jo. Brisco, Susanna Flournoy, or any other colored people being forced to leave Dr. Beale's place and go with Mr. Hart, Mr. Boyd and Mr. James?"
Answer: "Yes. We were all there together. Jo. Brisco went with them after dark. I did not see Jo when he went away. We all came away from the side of White Oak where Dr. Beale lives, together, Mr. Hart, Mr. Boyd & Mr. James were with us. They were afraid not to go. Jo Brisco went over before the night they were taken away."

Questions: "Do you know whom Jo. went to see at that time?"
Answer: "I heard him say he was going to see Mr. Hart. I don't know what he went for."

Question:" Was the pistol that was fired, fired between the houses and the creek?"
Answer: "It was."

Question: "Was there a pistol fired from the door of your house in the direction of Dr. Beale's?"
Answer: "I was out in the yard when the pistol was fired off. I didn't see who fired it, or in what direction it was fired. Mr. James and Mr. Hart were in the yard when the pistol was fired. No body else was in the yard but Mr. James and Mr. Hart. Dr. Beale's house is about 100 yards from my house."

Transcription Notes:
I am unsure of the 2nd "Snowball" (woman?) and the Flournoy persons' first names. ---------- Reopened for Editing 2023-03-23 20:54:25 Lina Snowball looks correct to me, as well as "Flournoy" (it being written more clearly on pages 119 & 120)
