Mr. Wilhite being sworn testifies:
Q. Mrs. Babb:- "Did you tell Mr. Hart and Taggett that Mr. Boyd was making his brags how he frightened me in the wood?"
Answer:- "I understood that Mr. Hart and Mr. Boyd had driven off the negroes and frightened Mrs. Babb in the woods.  It was regarded as a good joke by the crowd."
Q. by the Court:- "Was the conclusion from the conversation that they had been driven to the woods?"
Answer:- "Yes."
Q. by the Court:- "Were you at Mr. Boyd shortly after this took place?"
Answer:- "No."

Mr. Vanzandy, sworn:
Q. Mrs Babb:- Were you not at my house the night before Mr. Hart brought Susanna Flournoy to Mt. Pleasant?"
Answer:- "Yes."
Q. Mrs. Babb:- "State what Susanna Flournoy told you that evening in regard to her leaving?"
Answer:- "I was at Dr. Beale's that evening and the question was brought forward I know not how. She was asked why she left Dr. Beales; said she was forced off. She said Mr. Hart and Mr. James were there, one on one side of the door, and the other on the other with pistols, and she thought her last day had come".
