I refer the Comdg. Genl. to letter addressed to Attys at law and their reply, also, to letter addressed to Dist Atty 2d Judicial Dist and reply thereto, all of which accompanies this Report - for justification of my action in the premises and under the circumstances as stated. I would also state that, it has been my desire to do my whole duty when I know it and when doubt visited upon me, I have invariably referred to and applied to Attorneys here for advice and counsel - and in no instance have I ever refused to obey the mandate of any court upon which I was in attendance nor have I ever refused to give my aid and assistance when called upon, to any Court and, never, since I have been an officer has any Judge or Magistrate given such an order and certainly a Justice of the Peace ought to know his duty better, than to give
