[[seal]] NOTARY PUBLIC BASTROP COUNTY [[/seal]] Personally appeared before the undersigned authority S N Harris, who being by me duly sworn upon oath states. that on the 4th day of June he was present. in room where Justice J M Beavers was holding his court. And heard him when he imposed the fines of ten & fifty dollars. upon Mr Sayers and says Mr Jones was not in the room. he [[strikethrough]] also [[/strikethrough]] heard Mr Beavers also say "Mr Sheriff arrest Mr Sayers." [[strikethrough]] and [[/strikethrough]] at which time he looked around for the Sheriff but could not see him. Affiant further states that, Mr. Beavers soon thereafter went out into main court room where [[strikethrough]] and [[/strikethrough]] he heard him say "Mr Sheriff take the prisoners to jail." where upon the Sheriff went into the room where the prisoners were, and took charge. of prisoners.
