33 Ferry Avenue,
Detroit, Michigan,
September 25th, 1905.

Dear Mr. Davis:-
Your kind letter of the 21st instant, is received, and in a rush of many affairs, I am sending a typewritten reply, which I trust you will excuse.

I regret exceedingly to hear of Mrs. Davis' sudden illness, and am glad to know that the operation proved successful. I hope that her recovery will be prompt and permanent.

In a letter received from Professor Fenollosa this morning, he says that it would afford him much pleasure to criticise your kakemono, so I suggest that you have them forwarded to New York and make an appointment with him for sometime convenient to you both, for their examination.

I am glad that your plans include a visit in Detroit on your return to St. Louis, and I shall be glad indeed, to see both yourself and Mrs. Davis here.

Always yours sincerely,
Charles L Freer
