Detroit, Mich., October 9th, 1905.

Dear Church:-
Your charming note of October 5th is gladly received. It is a pleasure to hear from you and to know that all goes well with you. Yes, the Michigan artists are to have an exhibition of their work at the Detroit Museum of Fine Arts beginning one week from yesterday. The exhibition will be the first one given in the new galleries recently added to the old building.

Miss Dyar has, also, asked me to loan, for the exhibition, one of your pictures in my possession. She wants the water colour. The one of the Owls with the lighted lamps. I have agreed to lend it. I should like very much to see the panel and hope to do so within a month. You are spending so much time in the country it is a difficult matter to catch you. I missed you just before sailing to Europe early in May. Have been home only a few weeks but expect to be in New York soon when I shall look you up.

I often think of old Red Jack Axe Cave and hope some time to revisit the place with you. I send, under separate cover, a copy of todays Free Press containing an item on the forth- coming exhibitionl [[exhibition]].

With all good wishes,
Yours very sincerely,
