Detroit, Mich., October 13th, 1905.

Dear Prof. Fenollosa:-

Your telegram of today was received stating your opinion of the Kakemono by Sotan and the figure screen by Kenzan.

I have just wired my thanks and asked you to come to Detroit on Tuesday morning next, the 17th instant. Since sending the telegram I have examined the Railway Guide and I doubt if Matsuki will arrive here, himself, before Tuesday morning.

This being the case it would perhaps be better if you came on Wednesday morning. Thus, giving us one day in which to unpack the cases and get everything ready for inspection. Can, and will you come accordingly?

You will doubtless take your breakfast on the train and I will reserve accommodations for you at the Cadillac Hotel.

I shall hope to meet youat [[you at]] the station. But if I do not, for any reason, kindly drive directly to the Cadillac.

With kind regards,

Hastily yours,
Charles L. Freer
