Dear Mr. Fleischer:-

Your kind letter of October 19th reached me a day or two ago, and I am much pleased to have word from you.

Yes, my stay in Europe was delightful. I put in the greater part of four months in studying the collections, public and private, in Paris and London. I, also, spent a few days in visiting the old chateaus in Touraine. And a week in the galleries of Holland. 

At present I am deeply engaged in re-building the rear of my house, making it fire-proof and providing a sky-lighted room in which to exhibit my collections. I think that by the middle of January the work will be finished and the new room inhabitable. Should you be in this vicinity at about that time, or later, do drop in and give me as much of your time as you can spare.

A few choice additions to my Oriental group of Art was made during my absence. Also, a few new Whistlers fortunately fell into my hands. I should like to have you see them all.

I trust that since our last meeting you, too, have had much enjoyment. America is certainly a country of great scenic beauty. Then, too, I am sure that your
