In Boston, I shall hope to meet Mr. and Mrs. Baddeley, if they are still there.

The autumn is proving usually fine. Thus far we have had almost perfect weather. In fact, since my return to America we have had only three or four stormy days. It has been not only very agreeable, but also convenient for the building operations now in progress at my home.

I am making a fire-proof addition to my house. And when you are next here you will be pleased, I am sure, with the improved facilities for seeing Whistler's work, and the greater safety provided for its care and protection.

With most cordial regards to yourself and family, believe me,

very faithfully your friend,
Charles L Freer

Alfred Chapman, Esq.,
#23 Abercrombe Square,
Liverpool, England.
