#33 Ferry Avenue,
Detroit, Michigan,
October 30th, 1905.

Dear Matsuki:-

Your kind note of the 17th instant addressed to the Cadillac Hotel came promptly. As I expect to leave the hotel some day this week, hereafter it will be safer to address me at my residence, #33 Ferry Avenue.

I am glad to know that you reached Boston safely and that all goes well with you. I am pleased to know, also, that the two cases of screens sent on to you from Detroit arrived all right.

The little item in the hotel bill for pressing your clothes is of no consequence whatever, and you should not give second thought to such trifles.

The Shōshō-In is progressing slowly and will not be ready for use until after January 1st. You have given the room a delightful name, and I only wish its contents were worth, the title.

With kindest regards,

Very sincerely yours,
Charles L. Freer
