Mr. Warrington. #2.

of the gentleman is that the cornice on Mr. Freer's building should not project beyond the lot line. At the projecting end on the south side it would lap his building, because Mr. Freer's building is about 3' farther south than his building, whereas the projecting end on the north side I think would strike his building.

The only way out of the difficulty, it would seem to me, is to reduce the overhang so as to bring the entire clearance not beyond the lot line. In such case I suppose the westerly overhang of this gable should correspond to the easterly side.

If you can decide the point by telegraph will you kindly wire me immediately upon receipt hereof, and if you feel you cannot sufficiently cover the question by telegraph please write me fully and if you think best enclose a drawing of how you wish the point treated.

I am sorry the matter was not gone into more fully while you were here on the ground because the question is an important one and should be decided before any work is done on the cornice. In the meantime the carpenters are holding off on the east end of the building, and are confining their work to the blue room end.

Thank you for your prompt attention,

Yours truly,
